I Have a "Following" Problem..

I can't help it! It seems like every time I stumble upon a new blog, I fall in love. Now, I know it's not 100% true because there are many I have never returned to (probably what some of you are thinking right now...) but I've been loving everything lately. Everyone is so darn creative & interesting!

Since I'm new to the blogging world I'm trying to get the hang of it. I absolute LOVE reading all the comments people leave and then heading over and checking out their blogs. Which, guess what, I normally adore.

I've been making lists of things to write and I feel like I'm in creative overload right now. Which is a good thing b/c in 10 days I'm going to be done with the bar exam and waiting for my results and a job. Let's not think about that though...back to happy thoughts :)

I also want to give a shout out to my first follower and the first blog I starting following: http://ilikeitdt.blogspot.com/

She had me at infused vodka ;)

So fellow bloggers, how long have you been blogging for? How do you keep up the inspiration? Are there certain blog posts you love reading about? And more importantly...lemme know some fab blogs to check out!

Happy Blogging, everyone!

  1. I totally have a following problem too. Everyone that comments on my blog I want to follow, plus the other 100 awesome blogs that are to big to comment on little old me :) I use google reader to help organize myself, in both my blog reading and my blog writing. You can star and categorize things as you go through others blogs, so that if you have a great idea, you can start collecting photos/ inspiration for when you decide to write about it. I've actually never spoke with anyone else about how they organize themselves... I might have to do a post about that :) This has just been the best way for me so far... but I'm fairly new at this all as well :) Hope that helps!

  4. I follow like it's my JOB... It's terrible. I've been blogging for about six months and I absolutely love it, but I definitely get stuck for inspiration sometimes. The best thing I can do when that happens is to take a few minutes and get out to see something -- ANYTHING. Inspiration can come from anywhere!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment! Yours is fab; I can't wait for more!
    xo Josie

  5. Woohoo. Welcome to the blogosphere sweetie. I've been blogging for sometime now and I must admit it, I'm addicted. Blogging started out as a place to rant and pour all my creativity into but then after a while it became my home in the cyber world where I met a lot of awesome people. Oh and I hit the follow button, I'm looking forward to reading your future posts. take care and have a lovely weekend.

  6. Hi ! I just read your comment and went to the link you sent me. You will not believe this but I got a bubble lamp that looks almost identical to the one in the link. lol What a coincidence!

What's really interesting is that the one you linked me matches perfectly with our couch and the one I got was meant for the bedroom (its base is acrylic and shade is white).

But since the bedroom is not even close to finished, I put one in the living room and I kind of liked it there (we only have 1 end table). Once the bedroom furniture is stained, I was thinking of getting entirely new lamps for in there, and getting another end table to put the other lamp on. This was until I saw the target lamp u linked me.

Here's where u come in (and my dilemma).

*I now NEED/Have to have the lamp u linked me. But it's almost identical to the ones I got.

*Too many bubble lamps in 1 household? We're not totaling $300 on bubble lamps - an obsession, no?

*To get or not to get 2 end tables? $10 at Ikea.

*Keep my original lamps in the living room, get a new end table, and get brand new lamps for bedroom (no bubbles) but miss out on the PERFECT match that is the target lamp.

(this will totally make sense tonight when I post about the living room and new lamps. Major coincidence. Who knew lamps could be so important ahahah But now I need your help because you showed me the target lamp haha)

Anyway - thanks for your comment! Following u !

  7. You've gotten off to a great start here. In terms of inspiration: just keep living! Don't get trapped at the computer for too many hours. You have to be out and about exposing yourself to whatever interests you so that you can have ideas continue to come freshly to you.

However, that being said, there ARE some tremendous blogs to keep you occupied for hours. I see you've found Josie - I love her. She's a breath of fresh air every day.

I'm a big fan of Corks & Caftans. They are witty with a side of wine reviews and fashion samplings from two very intelligent people.

Style Bubble in the UK is a superb, forward blog by a delightful young woman who is a fashion expert.

Lou, Boos and Shoes...gives great insights into life without being overwhelming. She's an outstanding writer.

Hope this helps. Can't wait to see where you go next.

    xoxo,
    Carrie

  8. Yay for finishing the bar!! That is awesome and good luck. I took it in 2006. What are your plans after? I love meeting fellow attorney/bloggers.

I've been blogging about 4 months now and I too find myself on inspiration overload. I just create posts for all my ideas and keep them on "reserve." Then if I still like them, I use them.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi sweetie! Welcome to the blog world! I've been blogging for a year and I do love it, and all of the wonderful people I've met through the blogosphere as well! My advice would just be to keep folders of the pictures/quotes, etc. that inspire you, and post as often as you feel like it. I try to schedule posts ahead of time so the weeks that I am super busy I can still keep up with blogging. I've found that even with some of the blogs that have 3000+ people following them, that if you reach out to them via email or comments, they will usually write you back. That is always very exciting! I wish you lots of luck and am glad to be following along your journey now, let me know if there is anything I can ever do for you :) xoxoxo
