Oscar Thoughts

Awards season is finally over.

Here's my take on the 2011 Academy Awards.

-Melissa Leo's speech was too dramatic for me. Didn't feel real---felt phony.

-Everyone was wearing emerald jewels. Love!

-Christian Bale's speech was adorable.

-Thought The Social Network would win for Best Director.

-Robert Downey Jr., you are not only charming but very attractive.

-Reese Witherspoon aka Miss Barbie. Holy Pony!

-I hope I look like Helen Mirren when I'm 65. Gorgeous.

-Best Dressed: Mila Kunis, Cate Blanchett, Hilary Swank

-Not the Best Dressed: Marisa Tomei, Melissa Leo, Jennifer Hudson.

-Colin Firth: I adore you. And your speech. And your acting in TKS.

-Thought the choir and Oscar winners together was sweet.

-Anne Hathaway & James Franco. :::sigh::: you just didn't do it for me. Franco acted like he was too cool. Hathaway had to pull the slack. It was an ugly combo. Poor Anne. She seemed genuinely happy and excited to be there. Which begs the question---where was HE the whole night?!

And that's a wrap on Oscars 2011 for LLT!

What did you think of this year's Oscars?

Cowboy Boot Love

After winning Valerie's giveaway from Langston's, I was excited to place my order for a pair of Ariat boots. I had a hard time choosing between the Caramel colored boot and the Weathered Brown boot. I went with the Weathered color and I'm so happy!

My beauties came in the mail (3 days after I ordered them. Talk about amazing and fast service!) and I'm already anticipating their first wear.

My blush lace skirt with the boots?

Skinny jeans and a long sweater?

The possibilities are endless! I'm excited to kick my heels up with these boots :)

Big thanks to Valerie and Langston's!

Have a great weekend!

Buy This, Not That: Target Edition

I expressed my undying love for Tarjay yesterday and after seeing some of these items compared to their high priced friends, I'm even more in love with Target.

Look for yourself...

I made cute little collages on Picasa but apparently they don't want to cooperate today and are super tiny. Boo!

Target goes to show that you can have CHIC, fashionable pieces without the Designer Prices.

Who doesn't love that?

And how about LLT's face-lift? I wanted something clean and easy. I'm pretty happy with the outcome!

Spring is right on Target

Why hello there, Target. Or shall I say, Tarjay.

You have a strong hold on my heart and wallet. I go in for post-it notes and paper towels and come out $139 later. Behold the power of Target.

While wandering the aisles of Target the other day I happily walked past adorable Spring clothes and shoes. It made me eager for the 50 and 60 temps to start and work their way up to beautiful 70 degrees.

And now I present the items that made me stop in my tracks and wish I could wear them ASAP.

Tribal dress via my Blackberry: $19.99

Tee: $14.99

Shirtdress: $24.99

Dolce Vita for Target Wedges: $29.99

Sandals: $17.99

I loved everything I was seeing at Target and chances are I'll be seeing a lot of these items in my closet come Spring.

Check back tomorrow for some crazy Buy this, Not that options from Tarjay!

Namaste. A Kulae Yoga Mat Review

I've tried a bunch of different yoga mats, but nothing, and I truly mean this, nothing compares to this Kulae mat I was fortunate to enough to review.

I tried Kulae's Eco Yoga Mat Plus and it was heavenly.

The mat was incredibly thick. I never felt uncomfortable while practicing.

I couldn't take pictures in the studio, so I set it up on my kitchen floor to show you, and it was even comfortable on the hardwood floor, so that IS something :)

Also, the mat is longer than a normal yoga mat which really helps when your tall and doing some of the traditional yoga poses and stretching and you're too long for a normal length mat.
(or just laying on it because it's comfortable..uh, yeah)

Plus Kulae is a company that focuses on making the best product possible while remaining completely eco-friendly. They operate under the idea that Karma's Real. I couldn't agree more.

The mat is 100% biodegradable.

It's 72" long.

5mm thick.

And it was made with cell technology so NO bacteria or odor can enter the surface. Talk about a bonus for those of us that like hot yoga!

Even Ozzie thinks it's comfortable!

Definitely take a minute and head over to www.kulae.com and check out their products!

I was asked to review this Kulae mat but these opinions are 100% mine. I loved the product and look forward to checking out more of what Kulae has to offer.

Loving LUSH

I have to admit...when LUSH first popped up in a lot of the Macy's stores in Chicago I was not intrigued. In fact, I felt overwhelmed by all the fragrances. But every single person I spoke to raved about their fabulous products. I knew I had to take a leap and try them myself.

Before going on vacation my Mom suggested we try the LUSH bar shampoo. Bar shampoo? Uh, that's gross. I smiled and thought, absolutely not.

Fast forward two days later and I'm in Macy's smiling at the nicest LUSH employee ever. She's telling me about all the different kinds of bar shampoos, which ones are good for my hair, the tins you can buy, etc.

I chose to try the Godiva and Seanik shampoo bar. I can't believe it took me this long to find them--All that time wasted not using LUSH!

Godiva-my favorite

THEY ARE AMAZING.

Your hair will actually lather.

It makes your hair feel soft.

You can toss it in your bag and not worry about the 3oz rule at airport security.

It lasts a LONG time.

AND it smells good!

If there is one travel tip I can leave you with...it's don't pack another mini size shampoo.
Buy Lush's bar shampoo and watch it change your life :)

(ok it might not be that dramatic but I'm loving it everyday I use it!)

Ugh. I've been such a slacker this week.

Guest Blogger D, etc.: Get The Look

Please welcome the lovely Daniela from D, etc. Her posts are always full of great fashion tips and I read her blog daily :)

Hi Everyone! While E's away on vacation I offered to guest post for her :) Thanks E for the opportunity and enjoy your vacation!

Jessica Alba added a floral skirt, mega high platforms and sunglasses to play up this all black look. Most of us have the basics for this outfit already sitting in our closets - a black blazer, a pair of black opaque tights and a simple long sleeved black top.

Here are a few options for floral skirts, all under $30 (a few at half that!):

This outfit would also look great in flats, in case you're like me and couldn't last a second in shoes like hers, or in a pair of suede wedges. If you're a pro when it comes to platforms, they're listed below :)

Thanks again, E!

Great post, D! Thanks so much!! I have to say, I'm totally on board with this look and like D I'd probably pair it with wedges or flats :) Must go closet diving now for a floral skirt!

Wow.

Pictures really are worth 1,000 words sometimes.

We went on a whale watching excursion through the Pacific Whale Foundation and had the most incredible time.

The best part was when 3 HUGE humpback whales came up to our boat. They swam around it. Under it. And amazed everyone on board. Even the crew couldn't believe so many of them came up at once.

Magical.

Baby whale. Aww.

Literally next to the boat!
