Clinique Summer Products & a Bonus!

As a product junkie I have a lot of brands I stick with and Clinique is one of those brands.

As I wrote about in this post, I didn't love the moisture surge tinted moisturizer. I still needed to find something that had SPF and some color. I opted to just try Clinique's Super City Block. It doesn't have much color in it but we'll see how it goes.

I am also trying their Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder. I'm hoping the oil-free powder will keep me shine free during the Summer months.

The best part of this purchase? The bonus at Nordstrom! It came with an adorable Trina Turk make-up bag and TONS of goodies! I'm in love with the lip stick (perfect shade for Summer, 'A Different Grape') and really looking forward to trying the Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder.

sorry for the blurry phone pic

Marcie posted a great review of Clinique's dark spot corrector. Has anyone else used this and liked the results? I'm incredibly fair skinned so if I get a blemish (which I do, believe me) it will leave a red mark for a couple of weeks even after it's gone. It's frustrating and annoying. So please let me know if you've used this product for that and loved it!

Product Reviews: Make-Up

I love products. Make-up, hair products, bath & body. It's a terrible addiction. Here are some new products I've used lately and my reviews.

Laura Mercier eyeshadows

I'm a big fan of LM's products. This pallete is quickly becoming a go-to of mine. The soft colors are perfect for a base and the two darker purples are incredibly pretty for contouring, etc. I'm not as in love with the luster eye color duo in golden brown. The colors just don't show up...

Clinique's Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15

I had super high hopes for this product. I love Clinique's moisture surge gel that I use nightly...I figured the tinted moisturizer would be just as great...It's not. It has great coverage and color BUT the surge of moisture is too much. My face ends up getting really shiny around 2 in the afternoon. It looks greasy and believe me, it's not a good look.

Now I'm on the hunt for another tinted moisturizer.

MAC Paint in Untitled

I LOVE this product!! Put it on your lids and then apply eyeshadow! It not only primes your eyes for the shadows, but it holds the shadows on for hours. I'm talking ALL day! I have gotten so many compliments on my eye make-up since using this and I think it's because it really gives my eyeshadow a kick!

Got any good product recommendations??

Philosophy Reviews

I'm a huge fan of Philosophy. Not only are their products fabulous but I love their packaging!

I recently bought some new products and couldn't be happier with them!

First, the Be Somebody shower gel is amazing. It has a light, green tea scent and it smells divine without being overpowering.

The Hope in a Tube eye and lip cream is very thick and creamy. You don't need a lot for under your eyes but I will say it seems at times a bit too creamy and hard to spread. However, the area under my eyes feels dramatically smoother after a week of AM & PM application. I don't know how long this tube will last. It retails for $33 so I hope I get some mileage out of it!

Finally, the Microdelivery Exfoliating Face Wash is a recent discovery of mine and I can't believe I haven't used it before. The Philosophy ladies have always recommended this to me when I buy Purity (their face wash) I always said no and I can't believe I did. I've been using it for almost 10 days and I'm not kidding when I say my skin is MUCH softer and smoother. I have incredibly sensitive skin (we're talking hives from products, etc.) and the micro beads in this are SO gentle.

If I could recommend one new beauty product it would definitely be this one! Microdelivery Face Wash is a miracle in a bottle :)

Saving Face

I'm a total product junkie. There I said it. Admitting you have a problem is the first step. I wanted to share my problem with you too...I know some of you have a problem like me :)

Here are my go-to facial products:

I recently got a facial and was told I should use a toner after cleansing. I took the aesthetician's advice and bought Aveda's Green Science Replenishing Toner. After 10 days of using it, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. It has a great smell and really feels like it's shrinking my pores and closing them off to dirt, etc. I bought the travel size which was $14.50 compared to the $39 for the larger size. When I'm done with this, I'll definitely buy the large one!

Anyone looking for a light, gel-like moisturizer that will work overtime should try Clinique's 'Moisture Surge' Extended Thirst Relief. It's the lightest moisturizer and it is so good at what it does! I use this nightly.

With cold weather and sharp winds coming our way, it's more important than ever to keep your lips soft and smooth. I have used countless lip exfoliators but Philosophy's is my favorite. It's sweet and simple. Put it on your lips. Smush (very proper terminology here) them back and forth. Rinse. Baby soft lips ;) I'm a big fan of Philosophy and swear by their Purity face wash. I mix it up between the cream cleanser and the foaming cleanser.

For traveling I like to bring Pond's Cleansing Cloths with me. I just saw Philosophy makes Purity cleansing cloths. Although Pond's are quite cheaper....If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

For my day moisturizer, I use MAC's Studio Moisture Fix SPF 15. I use this under my make-up and like that it has SPF in it. However, I just saw they make one with SPF 50 in it and I'm thinking I've got to go try that now....but I'm worried it might be more primer, less moisturizer. Anybody have it?? Details, please!

Giving it a try...

I have a product problem. That being I'll buy pretty much any product: Hair, Make-up, Skincare.

As my 26th birthday approached, I realized I need to start taking better care of my skin. Now, I'm not a tan freak and I always wear SPF and hats. BUT, I don't use any eye cream...and I've zoomed in on the area and have little lines already forming. AHHHHH.

So I went ahead and bought a new eye cream. I've heard great things about MdSkincare so I went to Sephora to check it out. Well it seems like they're doing new packaging for their products so the selection at Sephora was deeply discounted. SCORE!

I got the continuous eye hydration cream that retails for $45 for....wait for it...$9!! What a pleasant surprise since I was going there for it anyway!! It's incredibly light but truly packed with moisture. My eye area felt smoother and softer after only a couple days of using it. Plus you can use it in the AM or PM which is nice.

They're changing it from MDSkincare to just Dr. Dennis Gross. Not a fan of the name change, but whatever.

I'm also a HUGE fan of dry shampoo. I've always been incredibly loyal to BigSexyHair's dry shampoo but now I'm no longer rooting for them. The last 2 cans I've bought (at $17 each mind you...) have gotten completely clogged and unable to spray. I've cleaned the nozzles, soaked them in hot water, you name it, I tried it with no success. Ahhhnoying.

So I heard that Tresemmé had a nice dry shampoo and it was only $6 at Walgreen's. Sold!! And I have to say, so far so good. I like it. And it has a light citrus-y smell which is nice but not overwhelming. I'd definitey recommend it. Plus the fact that it's over $10 less, well that is just a bonus!

Do you have any products that you always use? Any new finds that you can't believe you didn't know of before?? Please share!
